A joint plan for the Iberian wolf

Over 50 organisations are calling on Portugal and Spain to create a binational management structure for the Iberian wolf, echoing the cross-border effort that saved the lynx. They also want EU funding for wolf conservation.

Twelve energy communities for Médio Tejo

The Médio Tejo intermunicipal community has launched a nearly 25 million euro international tender to build 12 Renewable Energy Communities across its 11 municipalities. The 20-year concession supports collective self-consumption.

A Green Industrial Strategy in the making

The government has ordered a Green Industrial Strategy to attract decarbonisation investment, building on low electricity prices and a high renewable share. It will map priority value chains with a 2040 horizon.

Renewable gases could save billions

Lidl expands its anti-waste programme

Lidl Portugal has extended its anti-food waste programme to bakery and pastry sections, with reduced-price bags supporting the food emergency network. It has prevented waste of over 21.5 million products since 2021.
