Portugal's retreat centres tend to sit on working land rather than in resorts: a farm with rooms, a restored village house, a piece of hillside with cabins on it. That is what separates them from a hotel with a yoga mat, the place is doing something the rest of the year.

Four Trees is a farm retreat. PurposeFlow hosts stays that run from yoga weeks to focused work periods. Programmes vary widely in intensity and price, and several centres also rent to outside facilitators.
