AJAP director urges innovation to boost olive grove profitability

AJAP Director-General Firmino Cordeiro spoke at an event on olive grove profitability at the Cooperativa Agrícola de Beja e Brinches, highlighting young farmers as key drivers of innovation in agriculture. He addressed barriers young people face, including access to land and financing, and called for faster adoption of digital tools and more efficient farming practices. Cordeiro also presented the Rural Innovation Challenges, an AJAP initiative encouraging entrepreneurship and innovative solutions for rural areas. Applications are open until 16 August to anyone with ideas that could benefit rural territories.
