Alcobaça sets final deadline for forest owners hit by Storm Kristin to submit aid paperwork

Topicsstorm damage recoverypost-disturbance recovery

Alcobaça council has set 30 October 2026 as the last day for forest owners damaged by Storm Kristin to hand in the documents needed to process their recovery aid. The support covers cutting and processing damaged trees, removing and transporting timber, and managing leftover biomass, and is funded through the Recovery and Resilience Plan. Applicants must supply ID, proof of ownership or the right to work on the land, an IBAN and tax and social security clearance where required. Only owners registered on the ICNF emergency platform by 30 June 2026 are eligible. The council stresses that submitting papers does not guarantee payment, since expenses and conditions will still be checked.
