Pombal sets 18 September deadline for storm-damage forest aid

Forest landowners in Pombal who cleared land damaged by storm Kristin can now apply for compensation of up to 1,500 euros per hectare, through an online platform launched by the municipal council, with applications due by 18 September. Eligibility requires having registered the clearing intention with the ICNF by 30 June and having carried out the work; unregistered plots were instead handled directly by the council. The scheme, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan, allocates around 6.8 million euros to Pombal, the second-highest amount nationally after Leiria, and requires only photographic evidence rather than invoices.
