Alentejo waste operator launches scratch-card game to boost glass recycling in cafés and restaurants

Resialentejo will start a campaign called "Vidro em Jogo" in October, aiming to lift glass packaging collected from hotels, restaurants and cafés by 10% across its eight municipalities. It begins in Barrancos, Mértola, Moura and Serpa, and reaches Almodôvar, Beja, Castro Verde and Ourique in November, covering close to 400 businesses with door-to-door recycling collection. Each container or bag handed in earns numbered scratch cards, with weekly rankings and a final prize draw. Schools take part through a video challenge, and rural parishes without door-to-door collection get their own category. Sociedade Ponto Verde is financing the project through its Rede Recicla+ programme.
