Algarve university hosts students' national heritage meeting on rural landscapes and traditions

Topicsprotected area management

The University of the Algarve is hosting the third National Meeting of Heritage Students from 5 to 7 November at its Penha campus in Faro, on the theme of rural heritage. Students of Heritage, History and Archaeology from its Faculty of Human and Social Sciences organise it. Researchers, lecturers and professionals attend, along with Spanish students studying cross-border rural heritage. Topics include community management of heritage, sustainable cultural landscapes, traditional knowledge and rural-urban ties. The theme ties into the UN International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists. On the last day, participants can visit an exhibition on 6,000 years of Quarteira's history, with transport provided.
