APA waste-sorting roadshow ends summer tour in Portimão

The Portuguese Environment Agency's (APA) mobile campaign "Vamos Lixar o Lixo" makes its final summer stop at Marina de Portimão from 24 to 26 July, after touring six districts since starting in Braga. The initiative promotes proper sorting of urban waste through quizzes, a consumption-profile simulator, recycling art workshops and family games. APA data show Portugal produced over 1.8 million tonnes of urban waste between June and September 2025, with more than 480,000 tonnes in August alone. The agency says the campaign, which continues until the end of 2026, aims to keep waste separation habits going during holidays.
