Beja charity wins Gulbenkian grant for migrant worker integration

The Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Beja has had its application approved under the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation's Gulbenkian Migrant Integration Initiative, one of 25 projects chosen out of 289 submitted nationwide. Developed with social, private and public sector partners, the project aims to help integrate migrant workers while supporting farms in managing seasonal labour needs. It includes a digital platform to match labour supply and demand, alongside technical, language and citizenship training for migrant workers. The goal is to improve job stability and working conditions in agriculture and reduce vulnerability to human trafficking networks.
