Castro Marim secures full EU funding for hillside water supply works
The Municipality of Castro Marim has signed a protocol with the Fundo Ambiental that raises EU funding for a water supply project in the local hills from 60% to 100%, freeing up municipal resources for other works. The project, already under way, will build a supply and distribution network serving Cortelha, Marroquil, Amendoeira, Beliche and Corte Gago, including a reservoir at Pero Vaz and a link to the central supply subsystem from Vale do Gato. The works form part of a wider municipal strategy to extend piped water to isolated hillside communities, following earlier extensions in Pisa Barro and in Azinhal and Odeleite parishes.
