Fruta Feia wins Moeve Foundation sustainability award

The Portuguese cooperative Fruta Feia, which fights food waste by connecting farmers directly with consumers, was named one of three winners of the third Fundação Moeve Prizes. The awards, shared with Spain's DesaLIFE and FORTALECE, recognise innovations advancing a fair ecological transition, from water security to circular economy. Out of 340 applicants from Spain and Portugal, ten finalists pitched their projects, including four Portuguese initiatives: Fruta Feia, Refood, Guardiãs do Mar and Novonovo. The three winners share a prize fund of 120,000 euros.
