Funchal Food Week closes Friday with community soup event

The sixth edition of Funchal's Food Week is taking place this week at Largo da Restauração, with talks, workshops, cooking demonstrations and visits to an urban sensory garden. Avenida Arriaga is hosting a Healthy and Sustainable Market alongside a health area. A community soup event runs on Friday from 11am to 2pm, and the programme closes on Saturday at Parque de Santa Catarina with intergenerational physical activities and a SEMEAR picnic. The event is part of Funchal's Municipal Food Strategy (SEMEAR), which since 2023 has reached 25,000 people through 472 food literacy actions, including 84 cooking demonstrations.
