Funchal hosts EU electric mobility project meeting

Funchal City Council is hosting a two-day event bringing together specialists in electric mobility, held at the city's Cultural and Research Centre as part of the European Ahead project. The initiative, backed by 10 million euros and involving 23 partners across several countries, aims to use artificial intelligence to make electric vehicle charging infrastructure more efficient. In Madeira, partners include the Funchal council, Empresa de Electricidade da Madeira, EMACOM and Mobi.E. The project, coordinated by the University of Milan and co-funded by Horizon 2020, will install bidirectional charging points and a monitoring platform in Funchal, running until May 2028 with a 153,750-euro allocation for the city.
