MOBI.E prepares voluntary Mobi.Hub platform to keep EV charging networks linked after 2028

Under Portugal's new electric mobility legal regime, charging operators will no longer have to rely on a single body, MOBI.E, to link their networks. The state-owned company is therefore building Mobi.Hub, a voluntary platform offering shared rules, simpler integrations, dispute management and features such as plug-and-charge. Operators can instead sign direct deals with one another or use rival platforms, and must review systems, contracts, billing and data handling. MOBI.E says it consulted operators of various sizes, wants drivers to notice no change on 1 January 2028, and is ready to sign contracts with operators before the end of this year.
