LIPOR reports 39.4% emissions cut and new textile sorting unit

LIPOR's 2025 Integrated Report shows the waste management body serving around one million residents across eight municipalities in northern Portugal, handling roughly 500,000 tonnes of waste yearly. Highlights include 92,405 tonnes of recyclables recovered, 191,522 MWh of electricity generated, and a cumulative 39.4% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. The organisation opened Portugal's first pilot textile sorting unit, launched the ENNO energy community, and submitted an 86 million euro funding request for a new biowaste treatment plant. Revenue reached 58.4 million euros, with EBITDA of 14.79 million euros.
