Lusitano Project to showcase sustainable textile innovations in Feira

The Lusitano Project, a 111.5 million euro initiative involving 17 partners, will present its latest results at the 3rd Mobilising Agendas Meeting, organised by IAPMEI. On show will be new yarns and fabrics made from recycled and natural materials such as linen and hemp, along with fashion collections developed by companies including Calvelex, Polopiqué, Paulo de Oliveira, Riopele and Twintex. The project also developed smart labels for production traceability and water treatment and reuse systems aimed at making the textile and clothing industry more sustainable. Prototypes can be viewed on 25 June at Europarque in Santa Maria da Feira, with researchers and company representatives present.
