Melgaço regains daily coach links to Porto and beyond from 1 November

Topicspublic rail transport

From 1 November, Melgaço will have daily coach services run by Rede Expressos, leaving at 06:15 and 16:00 and arriving at 14:30 and 22:05. Routes will reach Viana do Castelo, Porto, Aveiro, Coimbra, Leiria and Santarém, initially requiring transfers. They run every day, including weekends and holidays. The municipality says the link replaces two morning Porto departures that Auto Viação do Minho dropped in July, citing lack of profitability, which left residents struggling to reach hospital appointments. The mayor urges people to use the buses regularly so the routes survive.
