Navigator cuts 300,000 tonnes of CO2 across four plants

The Navigator Company says 90 projects backed by Portugal's Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) have cut CO2 emissions at its industrial complexes in Setúbal, Figueira da Foz, Aveiro and Vila Velha de Ródão by nearly 300,000 tonnes, roughly equal to the annual output of 70,000 cars. Six major decarbonisation projects, worth about €193 million with €76 million in PRR co-funding, include new boilers, a biomass lime kiln, cogeration and solar plants. The company aims for an 86% emissions cut by 2035 versus 2018, having already reached 37% by 2025. CEO António Redondo called for more consistent energy policy and warned against Europe losing industrial capacity.
