New book examines why sustainable fashion remains the hard choice
Joana Campos Silva, a communication consultant specialising in circular fashion, has published "Ninguém Compra Sustentabilidade – Guia para Transformar o Consumo Moda", released by Bambual Portugal. Drawing on over 15 years in the fashion industry, she argues consumer choices cannot be judged in isolation, since today's system rewards convenience, speed and low prices over responsible alternatives. The book shifts focus from individual responsibility to the structures shaping consumption, combining research, personal experience and examples from Portugal's textile sector. It includes contributions from figures such as Eduarda Abbondanza, Manuel Teixeira and Mónica Neto, and is available from 1 September for 22.50 euros.
