New SIGA bus route 560 links Funchal to Garajau and Cristo Rei

A new SIGA public bus route, number 560, starts running on Monday between Funchal, Garajau and the Cristo Rei area of Caniço. It leaves from the Old Town near the cable car and follows the expressway to the Garajau exit, ending near the Quinta Splendida. Some trips continue to Reis Magos, Picos and the Ventura building. It runs eight daily services on school-term weekdays, seven in the holidays and two at weekends and on public holidays. The route comes from an addendum to the concession contract with operator CAM, which also adds Aerobus trips and more services on the Machico–Santa Cruz–Funchal corridor.
