Queluz Palace gardens host night walks about bats

The Queluz National Palace gardens are running the "À Noite no Jardim" programme again, with sessions on 21 and 29 August focused on the bats living there, as part of International Bat Night celebrations. Led by biologist Mário Carmo, each two-hour session starts at 7.30pm with a talk on Portuguese bat species, their biology and the myths surrounding them, followed by a guided walk through the gardens at dusk, using ultrasound detectors to hear the bats' calls. Booking is required, with tickets costing between €13.5 and €15, available through Parques de Sintra's website.
