Quercus Aveiro to hold second anti-wildfire walk on 19th

Quercus Aveiro, together with the Movimento Florestas do Futuro and ADPLP, will hold a second protest walk against wildfires on the 19th in Valongo do Vouga, in the municipality of Águeda. The initiative aims to draw attention from residents and authorities to the need for more effective land management and rural fire prevention. Organisers say the walk is meant to go beyond protest, encouraging active citizen participation in transforming the territory and building safer communities. Their demands include better management of highly flammable pyrophyte monocultures and enforcement of existing fire prevention and safety measures for the population.
