Second National Rewilding Symposium draws thousands in Porto

The 2nd National Rewilding Symposium, themed "The Return of Wildlife", took place on 3-4 November at the Biodiversity Gallery in Porto, drawing over 2,000 online viewers and more than 100 in-person attendees each day, nearly filling the venue. Researchers, specialists, community leaders, public and private representatives, international partners and citizens discussed ecosystem restoration, keystone species reintroduction and nature-based economic development. Organised by Rewilding Portugal, with funding from Rewilding Europe and Turismo de Portugal, the event will produce a report sharing its conclusions to inspire further action.
