Secretary of state closes AJAP 2026 event, praises young rural entrepreneurs

João Moura, Portugal's Secretary of State for Agriculture, closed the AJAP 2026 Technical Days on 9 June, after nine business projects developed under the Young Rural Entrepreneur (JER) scheme were presented. The initiative, run by AJAP with RIHU - Centro de Inovação e Empreendedorismo de Impacto, covers areas including artificial intelligence in farming, use of local resources and new business models. Moura praised the projects' potential to create economic opportunities in rural areas and highlighted the need to support measures that attract and retain young people there, strengthening the farming and agri-food sector.
