Sotecnisol upgrades two clarifiers at Porto's Freixo treatment plant

Sotecnisol has completed the modernisation of two secondary clarifiers at the Freixo wastewater treatment plant in Porto, in a project commissioned by Águas e Energia do Porto worth around 250,000 euros. The works, carried out with partner DEWACO, involved installing new chain-scraper electromechanical systems, replacing scum-collection piping, and upgrading electrical, automation and control systems. Equipment previously out of service was restored, improving sludge and scum removal. The plant, which serves about 170,000 residents, continued operating throughout the intervention.
