Sunenergy adds industrial battery to Veneporte solar plant

Sunenergy has installed a 200 kWh industrial battery at Veneporte's photovoltaic plant, which comprises 1,285 solar panels with over 700 kW of installed capacity and is estimated to avoid around 487 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. The battery allows the system to store surplus energy generated at lunchtime and weekends instead of losing it, and also keeps critical loads, including Veneporte's IT systems, running during grid power cuts. Sunenergy says the move reflects growing demand from businesses for greater energy autonomy, efficiency and resilience as the energy system becomes more decentralised.
