SunEnergy is a Portuguese renewable energy company dedicated to connecting the country to the sun. With over 15 years of experience, it specialises in the design, installation and maintenance of photovoltaic systems, battery storage, solar thermal water heating, energy efficiency solutions and electric vehicle charging infrastructure for homes and businesses. Headquartered in Coimbra, SunEnergy has expanded into a broad network of delegations across Portugal, including a recently opened branch in Faro serving the Algarve region. The company operates six ultra-fast EV charging stations distributed nationally and offers turnkey solutions covering self-consumption kits, battery-backed systems, climate control and domestic hot water, alongside broader residential sustainability upgrades. SunEnergy positions itself around a mission of energy transition for households, projecting and installing systems tailored to each client's consumption needs, promising savings of up to 70% on energy bills, increased energy independence and a reduced ecological footprint. Its offerings include free personalised proposals, equipment and installation warranties, and legal registration of systems with DGEG, the Portuguese energy authority. The company holds certifications and awards recognising its quality, safety and reputation in renewable energy and public works. In 2022, the Spanish group Sorigué acquired a stake in SunEnergy, with founder Raul Santos continuing as director. SunEnergy also runs promotional partnerships, such as facilitating client access to Tesla's Powerwall rebate campaigns, and regularly publishes educational content on solar technology, financial support schemes and industrial-scale energy projects, including a large battery-backed solar installation completed for the University of Beira Interior.
