Torres Vedras to host national meeting of mayors on climate and energy

Topicsclimate action governance

The energy agency ADENE is holding the third national meeting of the Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy in Torres Vedras on Monday, 26 October. Municipalities, public bodies, partners and experts will discuss the municipal climate action plans required under the Climate Framework Law and what is still missing to carry them out locally. The event will also present the Climate Passport for Cities, a national initiative of ADENE, the Climate Agency and the research centre IN+, which opens its sign-up phase that day. The passport recognises and tracks each municipality's climate commitment and helps it plan, deliver and measure results. The Minister for Environment and Energy, Maria da Graça Carvalho, is due to speak at the opening.
