Viana do Castelo group organises invasive pampas grass removal

MoLima, the Movement for the Defence of the River Lima, will hold a public action on 29 August at the Senhora das Areias picnic park in Viana do Castelo to tackle pampas grass (Cortaderia selloana), an invasive species spreading through dunes, slopes and riverbanks. The event starts at 9:30am with an awareness session on identifying the plant and its impact on native flora, followed by hands-on removal work. Open to the public with no experience required, it is supported by Viana do Castelo Council and forms part of the LIFE COOP Cortaderia project.
