Youdera outlines five ways firms can cut summer energy costs
Portugal recorded two consecutive summer electricity consumption peaks, reaching 171.1 GWh, above the previous 2022 record, driven by rising temperatures and electrification of production processes. Youdera, a company specialising in decentralised energy and Energy-as-a-Service models, says commercial and industrial firms face high hourly costs and uncoordinated energy assets during summer. It proposes five measures: combining solar production with battery storage, integrating LED lighting with smart load management, optimising industrial standby modes, ensuring efficient cooling systems, and adopting predictive thermal management using weather data and sensors to reduce exposure to market volatility.
