Maria do Céu Bastos

Maria do Céu Bastos completed her PhD at 58 before selling her house to move to the countryside and build Nowhere Desk, a rural coworking and co-living space focused on sustainability in northern Portugal. She has planted trees, saved seeds, hosted markets, started a book club, and opened her doors to visitors eager to learn. Now she is transforming a stone farmhouse into a center for essential skills — growing food, building community, and reconnecting with the land.
