Vítor Gordo

Vítor Gordo founded the Ilhas de Biodiversidade project in 2022, starting with the first Miyawaki mini-forest planted inside the Lisnave shipyard in Lisbon. Since then, the project he leads has grown to nine mini-forests across shipyards, schools, service stations and senior care homes. He combines documentary photography, scientific monitoring and community involvement to build dense, self-sustaining native ecosystems in unlikely urban spaces. He is based in Palmela/Setúbal, Portugal.
