ADELIAÇOR is a local development association based in Horta, Faial, that coordinates rural and coastal development strategies across the Azores. It supports municipalities, schools and associations in projects tied to fisheries, biodiversity and sustainable tourism.

ADELIAÇOR, the Associação para o Desenvolvimento Local de Ilhas dos Açores, is based on Rua do Pasteleiro in Horta, Faial. It operates as the managing entity for local development strategies in the Azores, including maritime and fisheries programmes under Portugal's PO Mar 2020 framework. The Universidade dos Açores has been a founding member since 1996. The association channels funding and coordination for projects across the archipelago. It has supported the Reserva da Biosfera das Fajãs de São Jorge, which marked its 10th anniversary and hosted the IV Festival das Reservas da Biosfera de Portugal in March. That festival ran from 12 to 26 March, with more than 30 activities involving schools, municipalities and regional bodies. The aim, in line with UNESCO's Man and the Biosphere Programme, is to reconcile biodiversity conservation with sustainable use of the land. ADELIAÇOR also tracks and reports on regional trends: fishing catches in Portugal fell 13% in one period it documented, while wine exports rose 14.5%. It has organised webinars on topics such as industrial tourism and digital-era financial reporting, and marked 30 years of the LEADER rural development approach in 2021. The association's activity spans multiple Azorean islands, including Corvo, where it supported the 'O Abraço da Cultura' initiative. Its work sits at the intersection of local governance, environmental stewardship and economic development, drawing together fisheries, tourism, agriculture and conservation under one coordinating structure. Contact is handled via adeliacor@sapo.pt, and the association is registered with NIF 512040184.
