ACOS laboratory gains Official Laboratory status in Portugal

The ACOS Laboratory has been designated an Official Laboratory by Portugal's Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DGADR). This allows it to carry out analyses and diagnostics on samples linked to organic production and protected quality schemes such as PDO, PGI and TSG. The recognition covers nine tests accredited by IPAC under ISO/IEC 17025. Operating since 2012, the ACOS Chemistry and Sensory Analysis Laboratory recently renewed its accreditation for olive and olive oil chemical analysis and extended it to sensory analysis of virgin olive oil. With the olive harvest approaching, the laboratory plans to expand its team to handle samples from producers, cooperatives and exporters across Portugal and Spain.
