Águas de Portugal group to price shared renewable energy in real time using AI

Renewable energy generated in the Águas de Portugal group's energy communities is to be managed by a smart system that sets an internal price in real time. Developed under the Gest_CER project, which won an award from the group's InovaPro prizes, it uses forecasts of production and consumption to push companies to shift demand when there is a surplus or a shortfall. Four group companies are involved, building on the AI tool INToWater, and pilots at Águas do Norte and Águas do Tejo Atlântico will test it. Águas do Douro e Paiva's share is backed by €72,499.
