Aldeias do Xisto host autumn food festivals featuring chestnuts, mushrooms and cured meats

The Aldeias do Xisto region has lined up a series of autumn events celebrating local gastronomy and traditional produce, running in different towns and villages until November. Chestnuts, honey, mushrooms, cured meats and convent sweets are among the products on show. Two festivals feature in the programme: Sabores de Outono in Lousã, from 16 to 25 October, and a festival dedicated to achigã, a freshwater fish, in Vila de Rei.
