Arganil and water utility sign deal to cut network losses

Águas do Centro Litoral (AdCL) and the Arganil municipal council have signed a protocol to study the local water supply systems, cut network losses and improve hydric efficiency. The agreement responds to national data showing unbilled water reached 26.5% of all water supplied in 2024, mostly from leaks and burst pipes. It will fund technical studies to map infrastructure, identify critical points and prioritise repairs, with costs shared between both parties. AdCL has already invested €6.4 million in Arganil's supply systems since 2020, work that now serves over 14,000 residents.
