Centro 2030 opens fire-recovery funding for homes, municipalities and firefighting gear in central Portugal
The Centro 2030 programme has opened a call for exceptional support to repair damage from the rural fires that hit northern and central Portugal in 2024 and 2025. Funding covers rebuilding or renting homes, restoring public tourist infrastructure, replacing forestry machinery and hunting-zone facilities, repairing municipal and parish facilities through the Municipal Emergency Fund, and replacing firefighting and rescue equipment. Only the Centro regional development commission (CCDR Centro) and the local government directorate (DGAL) may apply, for areas hit by fires between January 2024 and December 2025. Applications run continuously through the Balcão dos Fundos portal until 18:00 on 16 November 2026.
