Coimbra wins funding to renovate Paul de Arzila wetland centre

Coimbra City Council announced that its application to the Environmental Fund for the rehabilitation of the Interpretation Centre of the Paul de Arzila Nature Reserve has been approved, securing almost 70,000 euros towards a total investment of 200,000 euros. A separate but complementary application from Condeixa-a-Nova council, aimed at renewing the centre's exhibition content, received the same amount. Both bids were submitted under a co-management partnership covering the reserve, involving several municipalities, the ICNF and the Centro regional development commission. The wetland reserve is considered one of Portugal's most important, and the centre's rehabilitation is listed as a priority in its co-management plan.
