Coimbra wins nearly €70,000 to revamp Paul de Arzila centre

Coimbra City Council announced that its application to the Fundo Ambiental for the rehabilitation of the Interpretation Centre of the Paul de Arzila Nature Reserve has been approved, securing funding of €68,759.25 towards a total planned investment of €200,000. The project, developed within the reserve's co-management model with Condeixa-a-Nova, Montemor-o-Velho, ICNF, CCDR Centro and the Amigos do Paul de Arzila association, covers physical upgrades and environmental education activities. A separate but complementary application by Condeixa-a-Nova, aimed at renewing the centre's interpretive exhibition, received the same amount. The reserve is described as one of Portugal's most important wetlands.
