Ponto Verde launches AI chatbot to answer recycling questions

Sociedade Ponto Verde has launched ELO, an AI-powered chatbot designed to help citizens correctly sort packaging waste, available on its website and app. The tool is part of a new advertising campaign, and comes as surveys show 7 in 10 Portuguese people separate packaging but only 1 in 10 does so correctly. Portugal ended 2025 with a 60.5% packaging recovery rate, short of the 65% target in force until 2029, rising to 70% in 2030. The campaign includes TV, radio and digital content, plus a World Cup-themed activation comparing ELO to VAR.
