Ponto Verde recycling programme visits Leiria beaches this summer

The Academia Ponto Verde, an educational initiative by Sociedade Ponto Verde, is touring beaches in the Leiria region to teach children about recycling packaging waste through games, storytelling and a new team activity called Gincana. This week it visited São Martinho do Porto in Alcobaça and will stop at Figueiró dos Vinhos' Ana de Aviz river beach. Running from 22 June to 31 July, the tour covers 30 locations across mainland Portugal, the Azores and Madeira, with institutional support from environmental authorities. In the 2025/2026 school year, the project reached over 37,500 students, exceeding its original target of 21,000.
