Portugal extends climate adaptation strategy and creates PRR agency

Portugal's government has extended the validity of the 2020 National Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change until the end of 2026, ensuring continued access to public funding while a new 2030 strategy is prepared. Separately, a new Mission Structure called "Agência para o PTRR" has been created to coordinate and monitor execution of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, led by Luís Leite Ramos. The government also approved the "Água Que Une" water management strategy for mainland Portugal and published new PEPAC support rules for preventing agricultural calamities and natural disasters.
