Portugal's Fruta Feia wins Moeve Foundation sustainability award

The Portuguese cooperative Fruta Feia, which fights food waste by linking producers directly with consumers and rescuing produce discarded for aesthetic reasons, was named one of three winners of the Moeve Foundation Awards. It was the only Portuguese project among the winners, chosen from 340 applications from Portugal and Spain in this third edition. Three other Portuguese organisations reached the ten finalists. The other two award winners were DesaLIFE, an offshore wave-powered desalination system, and FORTALECE, a University of Granada project supporting traditional irrigation communities.
