Sociedade Ponto Verde launches 12-part web series on recycling innovation

Sociedade Ponto Verde (SPV) has launched a 12-episode web series, "Embalagens e Inovação Sempre no Ponto", marking its 30th anniversary. The series highlights technological solutions driving packaging recycling in Portugal, including AI-based waste sorting, sensor-equipped recycling bins and route optimisation tools. SPV says it has invested €18.9 million in innovation and R&D over three decades, backing 120 studies and projects with more than 150 partner entities. The launch comes as Portugal aims to recycle 65% of packaging placed on the market by 2029, a target the company frames as still requiring further investment and collaboration.
