Umbrellas turned into art on water and marine protection go on show in São Brás de Alportel
São Brás de Alportel's Municipal Gallery is hosting the third edition of an exhibition in which umbrellas become works of art about protecting water resources and marine ecosystems. It opened on 2 October and runs until 31 October. Organised by Águas do Algarve and part of the municipality's 2026 exhibition cycle, it invites non-profit institutions working with older people and people with disabilities to create the pieces. The works address water scarcity, climate change and marine pollution, using art to encourage reflection and combine environmental education with social inclusion.
