Associação Odiana

Associação Odiana – Associação para o Desenvolvimento do Baixo Guadiana is a non-profit development association headquartered in Castro Marim, Portugal, working across the Baixo Guadiana cross-border region shared with Spain. Its mission spans multiple domains: territorial promotion, local development, spatial planning, professional training, social development, investment support and intermunicipal technical assistance. Guided by values of respect for territory, heritage and resources, responsibility towards the community, partnership working, innovation and service excellence, Odiana positions itself as a strategic reference for integrated, sustainable territorial development. The organisation runs numerous programmes and events, including the T-Days encounters focused on mobility and employability in tourism, cross-border river network initiatives connecting shared rivers between Portugal and Spain, and the AGROSOCIAL project, which seeks innovative solutions in the agri-food economy through an open call inviting initiatives to be featured in a catalogue and presented at a final event. Odiana is supported by a multidisciplinary team covering sociology, financial management, project management, communication, design, tourism, social work and psychology, reflecting the breadth of its community and territorial development work. The association also maintains close ties with local municipalities, such as Castro Marim, and coordinates the Baixo Guadiana regional promotional website. Through training, technical assistance and community-oriented projects, Odiana continues to strengthen social cohesion, local economic opportunity and sustainable use of the region's natural and cultural resources.
