ATPD is a non-profit association based in Vila Flor, Trás-os-Montes, dedicated to promoting human rights, equality and community resilience through local development initiatives and educational programmes.

ATPD — Associação Transmontana Pelo Desenvolvimento is a non-profit association headquartered in Samões, Vila Flor, in the Bragança district of Portugal. Its mission is to promote human dignity and the transversality of Human Rights, guided by the values of equality, freedom, political and religious independence, respect and solidarity, referencing the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union. The association pursues the promotion of human rights, equal opportunities, and the elimination of discrimination and social vulnerabilities across the Trás-os-Montes territory. To achieve these goals, ATPD develops a diverse range of activities in partnership with other national entities, following a people-centred approach to local development. Its programming has included initiatives such as the "Academia dos Direitos Humanos" (Human Rights Academy, now in its third edition), community exhibitions such as "Vila Flor no Feminino", and educational activities for local schools and community groups, some carried out in cooperation with organisations such as IMVF and co-financed by the European Union. Its work spans the municipalities of Vila Flor, Carrazeda de Ansiães and Bragança. Governed by a Direção (board), a Mesa da Assembleia Geral and a Conselho Fiscal composed of local women leaders, ATPD relies on volunteer engagement, membership contributions and donations to sustain its activities. The association actively invites community members to get involved by spreading the word, becoming a member, or donating. As a locally rooted organisation working in a historically underserved rural region of northern Portugal, ATPD channels external cooperation funding and civic energy into concrete actions that strengthen social cohesion, human rights awareness and community participation in Trás-os-Montes.
