Sustainable rural accommodation in Montesinho Natural Park, near Bragança: four contemporary studios designed for natural light, silence and functional simplicity. The property operates under high environmental standards and is recognised as a Biosphere Committed Company.
Bétula Studios rents out four contemporary studio houses in Lagomar, inside Montesinho Natural Park and 5 km from Bragança, Trás-os-Montes. The houses look out over meadows and oak woodland, and were designed with attention to natural light, silence and functional simplicity. Each studio has a bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchenette, a living area with a sofa-bed and a private balcony. There's no television. There is wifi, along with books, magazines and games, and hiking trails start right from the property.
The project operates under high environmental standards and is recognised as a Biosphere Committed Company for its sustainable, responsible tourism practices.
From Lagomar, guests can explore the Azibo Reservoir, the Santa Combinha viewpoint, the village of Podence, Bragança Castle, the Vinhais Biological Park, Rio de Onor and the wider Montesinho area. Guests are encouraged to slow down, disconnect and spend time in nature: walking the village trails, swimming in the rivers and eating traditional local food.
Bétula Studios promotes slow travel and eco-tourism, and it's a place to stay all year round. Each season is different, from snow in winter to green summers. The stay is meant to be low-impact and to bring out the natural and cultural richness of Montesinho. The project also supports sustainable rural tourism in inland Portugal.
Our Goal
Bétula Studios wants to offer sustainable, low-impact rural accommodation in Montesinho Natural Park. It also sets out to show contemporary architecture that fits into the surrounding landscape, and to promote slow travel in Trás-os-Montes.
