Terra Verde is a lovingly restored 150-year-old historic manor set on 60 hectares in Central Portugal, offering retreats, workshops, creative residencies, and private events surrounded by forests and river landscapes. Just 1.5 hours from Porto, it provides a distinctive sanctuary for transformative and purposeful gatherings.
Terra Verde is a historic country house (Solar) located just 2 km from the medieval town of Coja in Central Portugal, nestled between the wild forests of Serra do Açor and the dramatic peaks of Serra da Estrela. The estate spans 60 hectares of fields, gardens, and ancient woodland, offering a sanctuary far removed from mass tourism.
Lovingly restored in 2025, this 150-year-old property has been returned to its original character while incorporating modern comforts. All period furniture and décor have been carefully preserved, creating an authentic atmosphere that honours the house's rich history. The manor features a variety of spaces including indoor studios, a Green Hall for cinema screenings, an Artist Studio, a Piano Room, multiple lounges and dining rooms, an outdoor kitchen, an Arabic Garden, and an exclusive private river beach.
Terra Verde specialises in hosting transformative experiences: workshops and retreats focused on art, healing, and personal development. Upcoming programmes include 'The Beauty of Imperfection' — a masterclass on kintsugi and upcycling with designer João Bruno Videira; 'Art Culture Cuisine' — a small-group creative retreat blending art, culture, and farm-to-table cooking; and 'Life Beyond the Diagnosis' — a practical workshop for those living with autoimmune conditions, chronic pain, or ongoing inflammation. The estate also welcomes creative residencies, private full-buyout stays, corporate off-sites, guided tours, bespoke events, and intimate celebrations.
With fast Wi-Fi, flexible event infrastructure, optional catering, and a trusted local supplier network, Terra Verde offers both the stillness of nature and the practicality needed for meaningful group experiences. A volunteer coordinator role is actively open, reflecting the estate's commitment to community involvement and purposeful hospitality.

Our Wishes
